Hello. Goodbye. Sort of.

Hi Wildflower readers. It’s been awhile since I last posted and I wanted to give you guys an update on the blog.

I will be closing down this site and opening minimalistgal.com.

Why?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the direction in which I want to take this blog.

When I first started this blog a few months ago, it didn’t really have a clear purpose or overall goal. I just wanted to share my personal style and bits of my life. And then something happened. Something unintended. And especially something that I didn’t like.

Instead of this space being a creative outlet, it became more of a shopping blog. It felt like I was buying clothing more for showcasing it on the blog rather than purchasing them to build a great wardrobe.

And that’s NOT a minimalist mindset and lifestyle at all.

I didn’t feel good about myself and this blog and I really started questioning the purpose and identify of this space.

So what does this all mean? What will minimalist gal be about?

It’s going to have a focus and not just be vague or all over the place.

At it’s core, it will be a journey about creating and maintaining a minimalist lifestyle, with an emphasis on building a minimalist wardrobe.

It’s also going to be more honest. I’m going to focus on and only write about meaningful things and posts that I can be proud of.

What I ultimately want from this new blog is to create something useful and to develop a writing voice. I definitely feel fresh and motivated going forward after defining my niche and objectives.

And that’s pretty much it.

I will leave this site on for an extra month before deleting it.

It will be bittersweet to say goodbye to this space as I have met many great people here. But another chapter has begun and I hope you’ll follow along for my next journey.

Head over to MinimalistGal.

Madewell and Penfield Kasson Jacket

Madewell and Penfield Kasson Jacket Review

It was a relaxing holiday vacation back home in the Midwest winter. I didn’t have much planned since I just wanted to be a bum and spend time with my family. I did hope for snow for our stay up there and we got some! But getting the stomach bug stifled my energy for taking more photos. The weather was also pretty crappy up there with only one day of sunshine for our entire stay there so I guess I didn’t miss out too much.

A Light Winter Jacket

Since I am planning to go up to Wisconsin to visit my family for the holidays, I needed a light winter jacket that I could use down here for winter and layer it accordingly when going up north.
